Rate Limits

In order to provide a fast and reliable service we may rate limit requests. The Bananatag API allows up to 60 requests per minute or 1 request per second. If an API request exceeds the rate limit a 429 Too Many Requests error will be returned and all requests following will be blocked until the rate limit time passes.

HTTP Headers

Every API request returns 3 headers specific to your rate limit information. These headers may look like:

X-Rate-Limit-Limit:1 Your total request limit during the 1 second window.

X-Rate-Limit-Remaining:0 The number of requests remaining in the current window.

X-Rate-Limit-Reset:1427306632 Timestamp for when the current window will be reset.
